Elaance and oDesk are going to merge soon by launching a new freelance company in common features. Both famous freelancing gigs have over 10 million freelancers in 180 countries.
Both companies’ executives will work together in the new company, however, the existing companies’ identity will remain same. The new merger rules will apply to the clients and freelancer to post a project or bid on a project.
“Our two communities have preferences and unique differences,” said Elance CEO Fabio Rosati.
According to the stats Elance has been working in the industry for 6 years, but oDesk is the larger then Elance as per number of freelancers. Desk contains over 5 million freelancers and Elance has 3 million workers worldwide.
Now the oDesk and Elance merger will helpful for both companies as the talented freelancers on oDesk will be able to work for high paid clients for their completed work.
The CEO of oDesk Mr. Fabio Rosati will work as the CEO of new company and Elance CEO Mr. Gary Swart will seated for the strategic adviser. The executive chairman of oDesk will take place the same position in the new company start by oDesk and Elance.
The merger was announced one month ago in December 2013 but the new company will come into the view after 6 months of the announcement.
